graduated-colors, is pleased to announce the introduction of its
‘Color-Grads’ in a new, larger size.
The
5.650" x 5.650" size is an extension of Tiffen’s traditional 4”x
5.650” horizontal grad, and is a
welcome improvement, as it allows for greater flexibility and creativity.
This new size provides camera professionals with one and a half inches of more
color.
"Our
new 5.650” x 5.650” size not only give DPs more flexibility for up-and-down
movement," states Steve Tiffen, company CEO., "they’re economical,
because they enable camera professionals to avoid having to step-up to
a larger and more expensive 6.6 matte box."
Scenes can now be shot with
mostly color and slightly clear, or, primarily clear with only a hint of color.
Until
now, filters of this type were only available on a custom made basis. Tiffen
will now offer this new size as standard, making them easy to obtain by
customers from stocking Tiffen dealers.
The 5.650 x 5.650 Color Grads will be available in
Neutral Densities .3, .6 and .9 Hard and Soft Edge, Sunset 1-3,
Twilight 1-3 and
Tropic Blue 1-3.
Tiffen filters are backed by a 10-year warranty. They are used in almost every major movie and TV production around the world. Tiffen has been honored with two Technical Achievement Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences: one for innovative product design, and the other for its unique lamination process which gives complete control over filter color and density.
