–
As part of its 30th Anniversary celebration, Steadicam, a division of
The Tiffen Company, will unveil its latest technological advancements at NAB
2005, with the introduction of two new SteadicamÒ Arms.
The result of years of research and testing by Garrett Brown and his design
team, they are the lightest, most rigid, best-behaving arms ever developed, with
the greatest vertical travel and lifting range in Steadicam history. Both arms
host a range of innovative features that include the use of new materials that
keep them incredibly light, yet amazingly stiff and torsion resistant.
And both arms are the most cost-effective ever developed by Steadicam.
Using
titanium components, the G-50 Arm,
supplied with Steadicam’s new Clipper 2,
and the G-40 Arm, using steel
components and supplied with Steadicam’s new Archer,
are also compatible with Steadicam’s current suite of camera stabilization
systems.
Both
arms feature Steadicam’s proprietary no-tools adjustment of lift, with the
G-50 introducing two new
mind-bending exclusive additions. ‘Ride’,
an exclusive feature to the G-50,
permits knob-adjustable iso-elasticity and ‘Geo’,
an active tie-rod geometry that automatically extends the performance curve. It
means the entire vertical range of each arm is its ‘sweet spot’, for
incredibly precise and smooth control, better handling, less strain and no lock
up.
