Hello,

I'm wondering if someone can advise me on the right insert to get for my F803. The supplied insert is fine, but from the others listed none seem to be the same dimensions they're all a little deeper, so I'm worried they wont fit in the bag correctly. There's one shorter heigh insert I've seen which is meant for a rangefinder sized camera and I'm wondering if this is going to fit.

Any advice would be great.

Well, the 3-compartment 720-230 (FA-230) looks to be slightly shorter than the 720-200 (FA-280) that comes with the F-803. That's the insert I use in my F1, F2, F7, F802 and F805.

I know I don't like that one though because you can't move the dividers they're sewn in place.

Well, it's the only other insert, AFAIK, that's made to be usable in the F-803. If you want something different, you may as well look for some padded material and make your own.

Where can you get one of those I can't seem to find it listed anywhere.

Adorama's (http://www.adorama.com/DMFA230.html) currently out of stock.
B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/16065-REG/Domke_720_230.html) has them though.

Yeah that's what I had before the problem is the dividers are sewn in place, you can't move them.

Steve Huff seems to have an insert in his 803 here, this isn't one I've seen listed but you can see the dividers are movable, he seems to indicate it is a Domke one but I'm not too sure?

The insert is an FA-230 3 Compartment Domke insert. We are currently out of stock on this but expect to be filling orders to retailers in about 30 days. Sorry for the inconvience.

Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea, does that have movable inserts or are they sewn in?

All new Domke inserts now have movable inserts. We are no longer making the ones that are sewn in.

Guess I'll be ordering a few 720-230s then . . . I rely on those guys in at least 5 of my bags (F1x, F2, F7 Double AF, F2 backpack and F802). :{)#

The gray (F2?) in the middle looks amazing... We don't see many Domke bags in that color...

F1x actually. That collection doesn't show either of my F2s (a very early sand one with metal instead of plastic slides and the monopod velcro and a navy blue one). They've got a limited run of the F3 in grey in some of the stores over here; I may see about getting one of those, not that I really need another one. :{)#

There are actually 3 grey limited edition bags out right now. F-2, F-3X and F-10.

It's really too bad we'll never have those limited editions here in France :(

I would change my black F3X immediately if a grey version was available
