And a proud owner of an F1x, F2, F3x, F4AF, F6, F803 and F806, I have many different bags, all of which are mission specific. I have found that for international travel, I prefer my F6. (The F3x is too small for my D2Xs w/ travel glass, and the F2 is bigger than I want to haul around) In the past, I usually have to bring my laptop in another bag. However now with the new netbooks on the market. (Finally snagged one on my last trip to Tokyo) I'd like to keep it with my camera so I can upload in real time. So, I'm wondering what is the chance of ever seeing an F6 backpack?

Can't go anywhere w/o the laptop and the camera. True, but now they are making smaller laptops . . . always something. In 2009 we are looking at what the digital image maker in the 21st century needs to carry and coming up with some ideals. Video, audio, stills, computer, storage, cables, mics, etc. What do you carry in 2009? -JGD

Well, if I get sent to the middle east to shoot, I'm trying to keep it small light and fast. Ideally I like to go light so a D3, with a 24-70, in the main compartment, then stuff a 17-35 and 70-200, plus one netbook. This configuration works well in my F6 at the moment.

I will admit, the thoughts of using a D300, 18-200, 12-24 and 70-300 combo looks less like a tempting press target and more like a tourist. I'm thinking this could in theory keep me in a less conspicuous manner on the battle lines.
