F-3x and my gear.
Will the following gear fits in a Domke F-3x
Nikon D700 with attached Nikon 24-70 2.8 Nikon D700 with attached Nikon 70-200 2.8 Will a Nikon 70-200 fits, with lenshood reversed? I read somewhere it was not possible to have it mounted on the lens while storing it. If anyone have pic with this setup, I would love to see. I have seen a few on flickr. |
I typed a bit weird up there. What I mean was: I am going to have ONE house (D700) with ONE of those lenses attached, most often the Nikon 24-70mm f2.8. I also wonderd if the bag fited ONE D700 with Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 vr. Not two cameras at the same time. Im after a walking bag, not a storage bag. A bag wthat fill with equipment I will use that day. I add a second question. Does the bag have a hard bottom, so if I place the camera with lens down it wont crack the glas if placed on a rocky ground?
Will this fit: Nikon D700 with attached Nikon 24-70 2.8 Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR Does the F3x holds the 70-200mm 2.8 attached? Sorry for any inconvenience. |
I would say yes to the 24-70 and no to the 70-200 and yes it has a hard bottom. We will have something larger that will take a 70-200 by mid-year.

There's enough give in the F-3x that I will carry an EOS 1D3 with 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 IS in mine with no problems. If the camera's got the 70-200 mounted on it, it bulges the top a bit but the flap will still clip closed. The outer pockets are good for flash, batteries, cards, and the like. Also take a look at this thread. The man himself has a shot of his F-3x with 2 lenses, one of which is a tele-zoom.

Thanks. Then I will wait until that time and hope it fits me. :-)
