Default Circular polarizer & uv protector

I purchased a 58MM CIRCULAR POLARIZER FILTER and a 58MM UV PROTECTOR FILTER. Which one is recommended to be used with an 18-55mm IS Lens and an EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens? Thanks in advance.

A polarizer will cost you about 2 stops of light; you don't want to leave one of them on your lens all the time. A UV filter will typically let over 95% of the light through, so will have negligible effect on exposure.
