Gone bad after 1st wash

I hand washed my F2 black for the 1st time and the strap has gone all wrinkly/wavy and it now stretches.
The bottom board also felt a bit tight to put back.
I washed my F3-X in same water so I know it wasn't to hot.
Any ideas?

Think I dried it to quick.
Ive rewet strap and pressed out the wrinkles and seems to have worked, just drying it slowly.

Sounds likely, although I'll confess that in many years of Domke use, I don't recall having washed any (and they're mostly light colours - sand or grey). I might have done one; if I did, I suspect I air-dried it.

my F3X sand went into the washing machine and also came out like that,
personally it gave it more character

Bags aren't designed to be washed like your would a shirt. Especially with all the pockets and heavy canvas. We always suggest to keep washing to minimum, best to brush dirt off. If you went caving and need to wash it, make sure to use cold water and line dry.

Can these bags shrink?
I ask as my bottom board dont fit now :-)
Got this bag last year and everythings going wrong with it.
1st stitching coming undone, strap now board not fitting.
My original F2 I had for years and not a problem with it.

I have an F-3X, F-2, F-8 and F-808. I put them in the wash as soon as I get them. I like the used look it gives them and it helps to soften them up. My F-3X was washed about 15 times before I used it.

A word of caution, though. Do NOT put them in the dryer and a large washer on gentle cycle (cold water) is better than using an HE washer. The zippers broke on my F-808 when I put it through the HE.

Other than that my bags came through fine. But that's me. YMMV.
