Default USPS Shoulder Pad problem

I just purchased a brand new Domke Shoulder Pad from Amazon.
Haven't taken it out of the package yet, as it already has cracks in
it. Is this normal? Photos attached.

(sorry for the terrible quality iphone pics...didn't have my real camera available)

For me yes. That's the style of cracks you can have on the surface of the pad.
It's only a sort of bubble who blew at the surface, not really cracks (did you try to open the crack to find out if it's really one ?)

I agree, they are actually small fissures in the material caused during the cooling process. They do not effect the use of the pad or quality, nor will they cause it to wear any faster. We are working to fix it in the future for cosmetic purposes only, to date we have not been able to correct the issue. We could easily change the material to prevent it, but we feel that is a compromise we are not willing to make.

This is good info, thanks. I'll have to take it out of the package when I return home from traveling and look more closely. The longer horizontal crack did look like it was deeper than just the surface, but will see when I look more closely. If it was an obvious issue I didn't want to remove it from the package so I could easily return.

OK so it does look like the cracks are relatively superficial.
It sure is comfortable! Thanks.
