What Domke bag
Comes closest to the Thinktank UD-40?
I want to carry 3 big lenses (100-400, 70-200 2.8, 24-70 all canon) with 40D/5D (just one) mounted, in a messenger style bag with batteries/filters and small "stuff".
What Domke would most likely be the right one?
Thanks
Dan

F 2 I suppose, if the lens are not as big as the Nikon ones.
F1 with two bodies.

3 lenses and one body? Check out FX3 Super Compact
I use the FX3 Super Compact probably the smallest bag on the market that carries the most. I put a lens standing up on each side, whatever lens is on the camera in pointing down in the center. I keep a strobe in front, LumiQuest f diffuser in the end pocket and tape recorder on the other side. The bag is small so it won't attract attention, but you can change lenses quickly, get through revolving doors easily.

There is also an F-811 coming out in May that's similar in dimensions to a UD-40, that also holds a laptop.

What Camera Bag
What camera bag would you recommend for the D300 with 24-70,
14-24 and Sb800 or 900 Flash. At times the 80-200 will be also.
I have the F4 now and it does not work at all. I should have done a little more
research and not listen to the recommendation of the salesperson before I purchased the F4 bag.

F4 is not enough ?
I have one and all you have could fit, I guess, if you don't put the 80-200.

Dan
Might want to look at the F-802 if the body you're planning on carrying is ungripped. I carry 70-200 2.8 on a 20D, 24-70 on a 5D, a 580EX and a Sigma 15-30 in mine, with the 720-230 insert. you could also use some closed-cell foam from a campers' sleeping pad to make your own compartments for a custom fit.

Or are you having trouble with the inserts (which I can see - I haven't used the stock inserts since sometime in the early '90s)? An ungripped camera and mius the 80-200 you should be able to use the F-803; to accept the 80-200 as well, you might want to move up to the F-802 and add the 720-230 insert or make your own from Ensolite.

F4 Bag won't work
Maybe I am just using the bag wrong but when I have the 14-24 or the 24-70 attached to my D300 with grip, that is all that will fit in the main part of the bag. And it doesn't really fit that well with the larger insert in the middle of the compartment.
I place the camera in the main compartent with the lens towards the bottom of the bag.
I am able to get my Sb800 in the exterior side pocket but without any inserts and not able to place any other lens in the other additional exterior pocket.
The 80-200 will not even fit in the exterior side pockets.
Maybe we are talking about a different camera bag system.

You're using the insert that came with the bag then. I don't. It comes out of the bag as soon as it arrives and I replace it with a different one. Specifically this.
Use it in the F1, F2, Backpack F2, F-802, F805 and F7. Only thing I use the 4-compartment (or more likely the 3-compartment 720-233 in is my "deerskin Domke", a haversack I use when I'm RennFairing with gear. Otherwise the 4-compartments stay in my gear locker at home, separating the lenses.
